Ksantyp – At the turn of the century, the guitarist of the well-known Łódź band MOUTZA, with whom he had numerous successes on Polish stages. He has always been associated with broadly understood Rock and Metal music, not closing himself to other musical genres.
Together with his friends, he created music combining metal and hip hop vibes – this is how the NTK Ekipa – Szary Album album was created. For many years he worked on the stage as a technician, among others with Proletaryat and Reserve, with the first band he even took two concerts.
Currently, the creator of one of the most popular, and certainly the most extensive guitar channel on YouTube – “FILMIkI O GITARACH”. On the YT channel, he mainly deals with the subject of broadly understood guitar equipment, but you will also find a lot of interviews from the series of “Polaków Gitarowe Rozmowy”- with the top of the Polish guitar scene.
The creator of the guitar website, first gained his skills in London, to finally open it in Łódź – #GitarowaMgła. He constantly cooperates with distributors and shops – “he knows what’s in the guitar bee”.
He drew his knowledge from, among others, such luthiers as: Dogiel Guitars, Druzkowski Guitars, Stone Wolf Guitars. A regular at European guitar fairs. A collector of all things guitar. He has over 100 guitars, about 50 amps, with 300 effects and a drawer of pickups… the shelves bend under books and magazines. Official artist: Red’s Music, Laboga Amps, Joyo and now also Vermilion Pickups.
The idea of creating this set was to make pickups that have a fast attack, good punch, do not clog the amplifier and will cut through the mix, providing a sound somewhere between vintage and modern style. In addition, it was also important that this set sounded very well after the coils split.
Both humbuckers are asymmetrically wound and are based on AlNiCo V bar magnets.
“The pickups are rather Moderate Output – so we didn’t go too far in any direction, they distort the amplifiers nicely, they sound good on the clean channel too. They can give a good fire, but also respond wonderfully not only in coil split mode, but also react well to the Volume knob on the guitar.
The bridge humbucker is fast in attack, with a well-balanced midrange, which does not clog highs or lows frequencies on amp. When split resembles a little P90 type pickups.
The neck pickup on the other hand, is able to play melodiously. It does not cut off the bass resulting from its position, but it does not muddy in any way, when disconnected it plays with a modern, strong single timbre, but not quite in the direction of the typical Stratocaster pickups”.
Sound samples are raw. Signal chain: Gibson LPJ 2014, Orange Rocker 32 (2xppc212), m13, shure sm57.
